Product Description
There are many reasons to choose Kar-Tech over the completion, but a few stand out:
Kar-Tech offers a three year warranty on their electronics
Decreased time and effort in service
Smart Diagnostics and flexible calibration
Designed and built to last
Kar-Tech systems are more than just a radio manufacturer, they do controls in hydraulics, and cranes, with experience in sensors, valves, and other electro-hydraulic components.
Kar-Tech systems are built to last. The transmitter housing is sealed with an IP-65 rating, and built tough, in fact it is the same high impact plastic that’s found as a base for automotive bumpers. Top of the line
A Kar-Tech radio system is flexible. You can reconfigure your system to work with most valves in minutes, should pricing or supply factors force a change. Our solid-state receiver is smart, and will latch your outposts for you. Goodbye to relays, there’s one less component to fail. We offer a three year warranty on all electronic components and one year for all other components. Want to take the controller to the next level, we can outfit your crane with a cellular or satellite modem so our service staff can take care of any issues with the electronics with a phone call to us.
You do not have to waste time. Gone are the days of hacking apart wire harness, lugging around oscilloscopes and multimeters, and cutting, stripping , crimping and butt connecting wires back together just to find out the problem wasn’t electrical. Just plug in the Palm, and we’ll tell you where the problem is. A short circuit? You’ll see where. Intermittent or loose connection? Our histogram stores error codes with a date and time stamp and currently active notification. You’ll know if a connector is on its way out. We display proportional output levels, on/off statuses, truck battery voltage, trigger voltage, radio frequency power and quality. You can tell in seconds whether the control is receiving a radio signal, if it’s turning on the associated output, and if the power is getting to the valve. We call it User Assist Diagnostics, as the errors are displayed in real time on the receiver and the transmitter.
We make sure we’re using the latest, most robust, and secure methods there are. Right now, it’s 900MHz, frequency hopping spread spectrum technology. We hop around on dozens of separate channels so we can avoid radio interference. On top of that, each transmission has an ID code, and each transmission is checked for that ID code. No match-no go it’s that simple. You can operate as many cranes as you need on the same job site with no cross – talk, period. Sometimes, however an operator will find themselves in an area where the RF isn’t allowed. We supply systems with our CAN cable-just screw it on, and instantly communications switches to the cable instead of the RF. Since the cable also supplies power and charges the battery, this is a life saver for the operator that forgets to charge their batteries. In addition to the cable, the batteries can be charged with our cigarette lighter, and wall adapters. A full charge will provide 30 hours of continuous usage. Our proportional outputs are current regulated. As temperature and truck voltage fluctuates, our outputs stay rock solid and dead accurate so your hydraulic pressures and flows to the crane are precise.
There are other options and features too. We do hour meters for the truck engine, crane, and compressor, all resettable with a password. We can easily integrate an overload detection/prevention system. By interfacing with a pressure transducer at the boom, we can restrict or slow movements based on the values of that sensor.
